Celebrating the cultural voices of countries often seen in negative light (everywhere from Somalia to Poland, Eritrea to Iraq), Globe Media showcases stories made by a multi-faceted, creative group of refugees and first generation British citizens as a magazine, short films, pictures, crafts, exhibits and audio.
There will also be a high end fashion show with the world’s most diverse names, live music, professional dance and films screening on rotation such as I is for India and Gypsy Caravan, courtesy of ICA Films.

The project is called Globe Media, a product of Springboard Media, a London-based charity which sits under the umbrella of long-established and respected not-for-profit organisation, CSV. The Globe Media project is funded by the Transformation Fund (Peter Mandelson). The aim has been to give education in media to those either with backgrounds as journalists or creatives internationally, or to those wishing to be empowered by storytelling and looking for ways forward through their transit in life.

The opening night is on April 1st, the exhibition runs til April 4th. We have confirmed attendance at the invite-only opening night fashion show launch party from leading members of the press, TV & radio, and commitment from some great VIPs. Participating designers include: Kali Arulpragasa of Superfertile (UK/Sri Lanka), Denny Wirawan (Indonesia), Stephen Pelger (Romania). Live drums, short set of bhangra dancing.
