I visited the Barley Mow in the eighties and it hadn't changed a bit since the 1940's. Warm and friendly. I lived just round the corner during the blitz - Lumley St. I was just a boy then but I clearly remember many of the residents of Stalbridge Buildings having their evening walk with a stop at the pub for their pint - including my neighbour, Mrs. Wilson (80), whose claim to fame was being a stage dresser to Marie Dressler. Good luck in all your endeavours. A.C.
