One of the best local boozers I've ever been in. Absolutely suberb atmosphere, particularly on music nights. Karoake twice a week - very popular and usually a brillient night - obviosly muched love my the locals. The monthly quiz night can be good fun - it's often in the middle of the month when not much else happns. They also seem to have a strong games and community following - I think I noticed them doing a communal curry night recently. Go and check it out - you won't go anywhere else after it!

Had a great night at this pub on saturday, two weeks ago. whe went in only for a warm up drink and it kept us there the whole night. Met friendly locals. And the staff friendly and helpful as well.

The Alexandra pub Penge is one of the best pubs i have ever been in I went to this pub for the first time this weekend and i travelled from the south coast i was so surprise and i can not believe how welcome i was made to feel everyone was so friendly the staff are unbelievable they are some of the best and they could not do enough for you the karaoke nights on Saturday and Sunday were so full of fun that everyone joined in the Land lord and Land Lady are loved by all by ttheir locals and i could not believe how far people travel just to come to this pub there were groups of people from Maidstone and they come every week and have done for years so thank you for a great weekend and keep up the good work i hope to be visiting your pub for years to come like everyone else

The Alexandra is one of the nicest pubs in London! And yes most of the locals go there however anyone is welcome to go down there for a lovely night out. The bar staff are very friendly and will be pleaced to serve anyone. It is a safe place to go with your childred during the day and is also a entertaining place to go when ever you are bored!

This is simply a great pub. From the outside it reminds me of the one in the \"Goodnight Sweetheart\" TV series. The decor is \"rustic\" with oak beams and traditional pub ornaments. The karaoke nights are the best in London. They occur every weekend on Saturdays AND Sundays starting at 8pm. There\'s a large function room and the landlord is hoping to host regular music nights in 2009. People travel for miles to come here.

i think the people who wrote the first 2 comments must either be from other pubs or barred. we have lots of people who travel miles to see us so we cant be that bad, and many people love our karaoke nights and say how friendly we are

Having met the staff from the Alexandra, I cant believe what all the fuss is about.. The nicest people you could ever want to meet.. Friendly south london people, salt of the earth..
If you think this is rough, try our bar Joe Kools, Fuengirola, costa del sol

I\'ve seen other comments about this place and couldn\'t agree more - IT\'S A SLUM - the people can\'t get off their bar stool or think they can sing whenever the appalling karaoke night is on.
What I don\'t get is why the Police & council haven\'t taken away the licence for the after hours drinking. it\'s not a \'private party\' when you\'re paying for drinks as if it\'s still before 11pm.
Don\'t go here unless you want a fight, which you\'ll lose when one of the cavemen/women glass you.

This is simply the worst pub you can imagine. You really should be put off by the \'slum\' exterior decoration which just continues inside. You\'ll know you\'re inside as the carpet sticks to your shoes.Youare then \'greeted\' by the ugliest and surliest bar staff you are ever likely to meet, and who will totally ignore you over the regulars. Warning, don\'t try and maintain eye contact with anyone, you\'ll be on your back in moments - it really is like a pack mentality in there. Also steer well clear of the \'karaoke nights\' where (regulars only) will attempt to destroy any song you wish,although it\'s usually the same old crones who think they\'re great - just try and slip out while they\'re on. Watchout for drugs too! You won\'t regret going anywhere other than here!!
