EYTON CELEBRATES 90 YEARS WITH GRAND NATIONAL CHAMPION
To celebrate the 90th anniversary of Eyton Races the organisers are proud to announce that last year’s amazing Grand National winner, Neptune Collonges will be parading at the South Shropshire Point-to-Point on Easter Monday.
In addition to the opportunity to see a racing legend on 1st April, the event consists of a number of different races, including the Hunt Race, the 2.5 Mile Maiden, the Men’s Open and Ladies Open. As always at Eyton race meetings, bets can be placed with a host of on-site bookmakers.
Phil Jones, Chairman of the Eyton Races Organising Committee commented, “We wanted to make our 90th anniversary really special and we are delighted that such a famous horse as the wonderful Nepture Collonges will be present. We hope that, whatever the weather, we get a large turnout to celebrate this historic anniversary and to enjoy the fun of Eyton.”
The annual South Shropshire Point-to-Point at Eyton is a great day out for all the family. As well as the excitement of the races, there is a fairground and licensed trade stands, offering delicious locally produced food and a range of other goods from local suppliers.
Point-to-Point at Eyton is an amateur form of steeple chasing, set in a beautiful location, with panoramic views of Wenlock Edge.
The gate opens at 11am, with the first race taking place at 1pm and the last race at 4.40pm. Admission is £10 per person and free for under 12s. Car parking is free.
