What started as a small collection around our offices for donations to the Ukraine turned into a big operation!!
It all started when we sent an email around to our clients at the Business Hub informing them that we were collecting for the Ukrainian appeal and there would be a collection point in reception
Fast forward three days and we had an office full of supplies for the Ukraine which have been labelled and checked by the Ukrainian Embassy
Using our existing infrastructure and experienced personnel, we were able to quickly turn into a distribution hub, packing and labelling in Ukrainian and English over 3000 parcels and donating over £2000 for the cost of the first lorry. Our donations left for Ukraine in a lorry convoy together with six fully kitted out ambulances which had been fully funded by individuals.
Very soon our office space and services were being challenged again, the response from local people was amazing and we soon had too many donations for the office. Luckily, we were offered an empty warehouse, which we could use and so continued to accept and pack more items, this time over 5,000 boxes were collected and loaded directly into a very large articulated lorry and were in Poland within 4 days from leaving us. The over whelming support of local people from all over Basingstoke and Hampshire, kept us so busy that we had to have a break from donations.
We are now raising money for the next lorry to Ukraine and hosting events such as this to help raise the next £2000
