About the Show
The grumpiest uncle in showbiz is back. Tez Ilyas brings his brand-new stand-up show, Tez Things I Hate About You, to The Glee Club Birmingham on Wednesday 2 September 2026. Fresh from travelling the world (and smashing it as a top husband and bunny-stepdad), the UK’s leading de-influencer returns with fresh jokes, furious rants and ridiculous stories, all delivered with Tez’s trademark smart, silly and subversive humour.
Tez is one of the most exciting voices in British comedy. He stars in Man Like Mobeen (BBC Three), has appeared on Live at the Apollo (BBC Two) and Fighting Talk (BBC Radio 5 Live), and is the Sunday Times bestselling author of Secret Diary of a British Muslim Aged 13 3/4. His comedy has been called “radiantly entertaining” by The Times and “Blackburn’s Chris Rock” by The Guardian.
What to Expect
Expect a night of razor-sharp stand-up from a comedian at the top of his game. Tez Things I Hate About You is a brand-new show touring nationwide in Autumn 2026, and this Birmingham date is your chance to see it early. Doors open at 18:15 with last entry at 18:30, so arrive promptly — please note the Lounge Bar will not be opening before this show.
This is a 16+ event with unallocated seating. The show runs from 18:15 to approximately 20:30, and with seats on a first-come basis, arriving early guarantees the best view. No food is available at this performance, but the venue’s bar is open during the show.
Getting There
The Glee Club is located in The Arcadian, 70 Hurst Street, Birmingham B5 4TD — right in the heart of the city’s Southside district. It’s a short walk from Birmingham New Street station, with Moor Street station even closer. Several bus routes stop on Hurst Street, and there are public car parks nearby including the Arcadian Centre car park.

Tickets & Pricing
Advance tickets are priced at £20.00 (plus a £2.75 booking fee per ticket for wheelchair show entry). Given the show’s nationwide tour and Tez’s reputation, booking early is strongly recommended — as the man himself says, “You’ll hate yourself if you miss it.”
