Movie Gangsters “The Best of British” is a unique tour that brings together some of the most iconic actors from classic British gangster movies for a night of storytelling, reminiscing and entertainment.

The Actors:

Terry Stone

Most famous for his captivating roles in acclaimed films like “Rise of the Footsoldier,” “Bonded by Blood,” and “Once Upon a Time in London,” Stone took his on-screen charisma to feature in many British classics.

Terry Stone started off as a highly successful rave promoter, coming to acting in 2003 when he appeared in Hell to Pay, the story of London East End gangsters. He changed geographical area when he was cast as Tony Tucker in Rise of the Footsoldier and the subsequent prequels.The film tells the story of Essex gangsters who had started as football hooligans in the 80s and 90s. The real life Tony Tucker was murdered in the Rettendon Range Rover murders of 1995.

Josh Myers

With starring roles in “Anti-Social”, “Screwed” and “The Sweeney” to name a few, Josh Myers has worked on some of Cinema’s biggest productions, taking his dominant on screen presence to every film he’s involved with. He is well versed in Kray folklore having played Frankie Fraser in The Fall of the Krays, and Frank “the mad axeman” Mitchell in The Krays: Dead Man walking, a film which had cast arch Eastenders baddie Leslie Grantham as Nipper Read the policeman who eventually brought the Krays to justice.

Josh Myers has worked with Jamie, Terry and Roland in Rise of the Footsoldier 3, a cast which also included Shaun Ryder, frontman of the Happy Mondays, who played the character Mad Dog.

Frank Harper

Best Known for his powerful performances in iconic films such as “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,” “Football Factory” & “This is England”, Harper’s on-screen presence is a force to be reckoned with. Frank also played an armed robber in the film of Kevin and Perry go large with Harry Enfield.

His television credits are many and varied, and have included playing several policemen and security guards in addition to the villains. He also appeared in Ripper Street so has a knowledge of Whitechapel just after the infamous Jack the Ripper murders.

Nick Moran

With gripping performances in films like “Renegades”, “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,”  and “St George’s Day”, Moran’s charismatic, smooth-talking presence has made him a standout in the world of cinema with his undeniable talent and versatility.

Nick played the role of Eddy in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and will be familiar to a different generation for his role as Scabior the evil snatcher in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

In 2013 Nick was cast in the the TV mini series of The Great Train Robbery, but playing policeman DS Jack Slipper. Slipper of the Yard went on to become operational Chief Superintendent of the Flying squad. He flew out to Rio in 1974 in an infamous attempt to bring Ronnie Biggs to justice but had to return empty handed. Nick was able to draw on personal experience in that he had met many of the Great Train Robbers through his friendship with Bruce Reynolds’ son Nick.

Jamie Foreman

Explore the captivating talent of Jamie Foreman, the acclaimed British actor. From his unforgettable roles in films like “Layer Cake” and “Nil by Mouth,” Foreman’s commanding performances and magnetic screen presence have solidified his status as a true cinematic powerhouse.

Many will know Jamie Foreman from his role of Derek Branning in Eastenders, a convicted armed robber, or from playing archetypal villain Bill Sikes in Roman Polanski’s version of Oliver Twist, or from his role as Duke in Layer Cake.

Jamie would have had ample family history to draw on to perfect his performances. His father, Freddie Foreman was a real life South London gangster who worked with the Kray twins and was imprisoned for disposing of the body of Jack “the hat” McVitie. He was also imprisoned for handling the proceeds of the Security Express robbery with Ronnie Knight, one time husband of Barbara Windsor.

Vas Blackwood

With leading roles in films like “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,” “Mean Machine,” and “Creep,” Vas Blackwood’s captivating performances have showcased his talent and made him a compelling presence on the silver screen.

Vas Blackwood may have started his career playing comedy, working with Lenny Henry, and with David Jason in Only Fools and Horses, but Guy Ritchie obviously spotted his potential as a villain when he cast him as Rory Breaker in classic gangster movie Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels in 1998.

He teamed up again with Wimbledon Hard man Vinnie Jones in comedy sports film The Mean Machine in 2001.

Roland Manookian

Known for his unique way of captivating an audience, Manookian has starred in a string of success iconic British gangster moves such as “RocknRolla,” “The Football Factory,” “Rise of The Footsoldier” and “The Business”.

The actors will share their personal experiences and stories from their time on set, offering behind-the-scenes insights into the making of some of the most beloved gangster films in British cinema history.

The Best of British tour is an event that celebrates the rich history of British gangster films and offers a unique opportunity to connect with some of the most iconic actors from the genre. It is a must-attend event for any film enthusiast or fans of classic British Cinema.
