Rotary Chester are hosting Risca Male Choir at a charity event on 3 June, with all proceeds going to West Cheshire Foodbank. The venue is All Saints Church in Hoole, Chester, which has a capacity of circa 300, With tickets on sale at £10 each we hope to raise over £2,700 for this worthwhile cause.
We have engaged the services of Chester Beer and Wine, who will provide refreshments at the interval and donate 10% of the profits to the charity.
The Choir
Risca Male Choir, from South Wales, are on tour in our area. The choir are singing in Bebington, Wirral on 1 Jun and in Chester on 3 Jun. Previous tours have seen the choir perform in Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Spain and California. Founded in 1970, Risca Male Choir has established an enviable reputation with its diverse performance styles and trendsetting programmes. Competition successes have included gaining the title Male Choir of the Year, winning the Welsh Choral Challenge shield, the National Eisteddfod, the Bronze Medal from the Malta International Choral Competition, and being Male Choir Winners at the International Choir Festival of Jersey, and the Majestic Battle of the Choirs, Torquay.

Guest soprano Jane Johnson has performed on many occasions with Crewe Male Voice Choir, and is an active supporter of Rotary events.
West Cheshire Foodbank
Our foodbank works with a range of local agencies who meet people at risk of going hungry. Citizens Advice, children’s centres and health visitors are just some of those who can refer people to our foodbank by issuing them with a foodbank referral.
Rotary Club of Chester
Rotary Chester have played a major role in the charity sector of the city for over 100 years, through fund raising and local community activities.
