World Day of Prayer

An afternoon of fellowship and worship produced by the Christian women of Taiwan to celebrate the World Day of Prayer.

The World Day of Prayer is a global ecumenical movement led by
Christian women who welcome you to join in prayer and action for
peace and justice. A service is held annually on or near the first
Friday in March.
This service was developed in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic
with all the limitations and suffering that has impacted the world since
2020, and which brought to light the hidden struggles for essential
workers during this time when they had to balance work and family in a
vulnerable economic situation.
This year the service has been written by women of Taiwan who remind
us of the urgency to protect the environment; and ask us to be aware of
the gender stereotypes that women and girls around the world still face
today and to contemplate issues of suffering and injustice which are
experienced by them. We continue to be challenged to prayerful action.
The World Day of Prayer is for everyone – men, women and young
people.
A warm welcome awaits you at your local service, and you are invited
to share your faith, joy and hopes.
