Funhouse Comedy Club – Edinburgh Festival Preview All-Dayer in Derby July 2022

Funhouse Comedy brings an outstanding day of comedy to the beer garden stage at Bar One, Derby on Sunday July 3rd with its Edinburgh Festival Preview All-Dayer.

2.00pm – Paul McCaffrey – We Go Again
A hilarious new stand-up show from the star of Live at the Apollo, Russell Howard’s Good News, Impractical Jokers UK and Stand Up Central. Tour support for Kevin Bridges and Sean Lock. A brand-new hour of stand up from one of the best comics currently working in the UK. One of the most in-demand club headliners and support act for the biggest names in comedy in arenas and huge theatres.

3.25pm – Hal Cruttenden – It’s Best You Hear It From Me
After 21 years and 224 days Hal’s back being single. But it’s all going to be fine. Instead of getting the therapy he clearly needs, he’s made a cracking show about it. He’s lost enough weight to almost get his wedding ring off and, while he may be flying solo, he’s far from alone; he’s got his grown-up daughters, his dogs and his divorce lawyer. The fickle finger of fate has turned Hal’s life upside down but he’s sticking a finger right back at it.

4.50pm – Ian Stone – Righter or Wrongs
So many wrongs, so little time. ‘Seriously funny’ (Guardian). ‘Ultimately, it’s the sheer quantity of funny material that impresses’ (List). ‘I had high hopes for Ian Stone’s show. He’s a seasoned performer and he has a brilliant line in political humour. Not only was I not disappointed, he blew all my expectations away. Stone’s beautifully crafted stories, peppered with gags and asides were hilarious throughout. Not a word is wasted in his clever telling of his world view’ (Chortle.co.uk). ‘One of the top ten comedians in Britain’ (Independent).

6.15pm – Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre – Eurovision Sock Contest
Earth’s funniest footwear are back with their latest comedy hour. Fresh from their appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, they bring you a whole song contest for your voting pleasure. With entries from everyone from Scandinavia to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, from the Eastern Bloc to the country of your choice, who will win? You decide. Expect the usual songs, sketches, and gags sans frontieres.

7.30pm – Jack Campbell
2014 English Comedian Of The Year winner who was shortlisted for the BBC Radio New Comedy Award Finals. His distorted logic and amusing anecdotes are both unique and appealing.

8.45pm – Eddy Brimson – A Comedian
A stand-up show about life as a comedian by one of the UK’s most in-demand headline acts. Reviews from previous shows: ‘If there were a school of comedy in the UK, Brimson would be top of the class ***** (Sydney Morning Herald). ‘A proper Tour De Force, and no mistake’ ***** (HeraldScotland.com).
