Funhouse Comedy Club – Edinburgh Festival Preview All-Dayer in Derby July 2023

EDINBURGH FESTIVAL PREVIEW ALL-DAYER AT BAR ONE, DERBY

Funhouse Comedy brings an outstanding day of comedy to the beer garden stage at Bar One, Derby on Sunday July 9th with its Edinburgh Festival Preview All-Dayer.

2.00pm – Emmanuel Sonubi – Curriculum Vitae
The Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer nominee 2022 is back with a new show taking us through the life he led that brought him to the stage, via his work history. Recently seen on QI, Alan Davies’ As Yet Untitled, Apprentice: You’re Fired and headlining Live at the Apollo. Emmanuel’s 2022 show, Emancipated sold out and was a Fringe smash hit.

3.25pm – Lindsey Santoro – Pink Tinge
Alright bab!? Debut stand-up hour from one of the most exciting voices to come out of Brum in recent years. Since appearing as part of Best in Class in 2018, Lindsey has made numerous appearances across TV, radio and podcasts, including Comedy Central Live and Sarah Millican’s Elephant in the Room (BBC Radio 4). She has recently supported Joe Lycett on tour including support at Wembley Arena. 2021 Finalist at the British Comedian of the Year. ‘One of the most naturally hysterical and gifted comedians in recent memory’ (Joe Lycett).

4.50pm – Geoff Norcott – Basic Bloke
As seen on Have I Got News For You, A League of Their Own, The Last Leg and more. Geoff Norcott will be trying to make sense of the current cultural and political scene with his playfully provocative brand of humour. But this time around he also has a mission. As well as casting his everyman eye over what’s happening in wider society, Geoff is trying to unpick what’s happening with your average bloke. Remember them? ‘One of our most refreshingly funny comedians’ **** (Times).

6.15pm – Dan Tiernan – Going Under
He’s 27, gay and riddled with dyspraxia. Dan’s had a big year, quitting his job as a dinner lady, going full-time in comedy and finally leaving home, yet somehow he still feels he’s completely going under. The reigning BBC New Comedy Awards winner and British Comedian of the Year presents his gag-heavy, high-energy debut hour. Tour support for Micky Flanagan and Jamali Maddix.

7.30pm – Matt Bragg
Matt Bragg a master of delivery, with timing that keeps you hanging on the edge and then on the edge again. His dry humour and subtle anecdotes leave the audience listening intently wanting more of the cool, calm, and collected comedian. The son of television warm-up man Bobby Bragg, Matt has been performing stand-up all over the country at some of the largest clubs in the UK, doing warm-up shows with Ricky Gervais and supporting Harry Hill

8.45pm – Dave Bibby – Baby Dinosaur
Dave Bibby, ‘madcap musical-character-sketch comedy pioneer’ (BroadwayWorld.com), is back with a show about parenthood and dinosaurs. Packed with songs, sketches and *ahem* multi award-winning stand-up. ‘Could develop cult status’ **** (BroadwayBaby.com).
