Funhouse Comedy Club, which already runs successful nights at numerous venues across the country, is excited to announce the launch of a brand new comedy night at The Binary, Mickleover on Sunday April 30th.
Funhouse clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere, which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website Chortle. Previous acts to have played its clubs on their road to the top include Sarah Millican, Joe Lycett, James Acaster and Rhod Gilbert, who described the clubs as “among the best anywhere in the world.”
Topping the bill is Irish comedian Martin Mor. Starting out as a circus entertainer he then decided to turn to stand-up. Having supported Frankie Boyle, Jack Dee, Lee Evans, Jasper Carrot, Patrick Kielty, Johnny Vegas, Steve Coogan, and once Tina Turner on Tour he is one of the most popular and well-travelled comics on the circuit. His fiery insults often directed at audience members, are accepted with laughter when delivered by this gentle giant of a man.
Opening the night will be the cheeky and camp Stephen Bailey, who’s appeared on TV’s ‘Live at The Apollo’, ‘Big Brother’s Bit On The Side’ and done warm-ups for ‘Let’s Lunch with Gino and Mel’ and ‘Loose Women’. With his sharp wit and warm persona he soon has his audiences fascinated.
Completing the line-up is winner of Funhouse’s Should I Stay or Should I Go competition and semi-finalist in British Comedian of the Year, the up-and-coming Jacob Nussey who draws in audiences with his low-status, surreal, and often dark style.
Compere for the night is the positive, amiable and amusing Dave Bryon.
