Psychopath is a widely used term in society – but do you know what it really means? Psychopathy is a complex and often misunderstood psychological disorder that has long fascinated researchers and the public alike.

In this talk you will learn all about the characteristics and behaviours associated with psychopathy. From exploring the biological, psychological and environmental factors to examining the role of empathy and emotional processing, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of psychopaths. We will also raise important questions such as: can a psychopath ever be cured? Are some people destined to be psychopaths? Join us as we explore this fascinating topic.

Dr. Zara Brodie is a clinical psychologist whose research focuses on the impact of childhood adversity on attachment security and interpersonal functioning in adulthood, with a particular interest in the role of emotions and maladaptive behaviours in romantic relationships. She has worked with domestic abuse charities to examine the impact of COVID-19 on domestic abuse.
