The Medici Choir and the Brandenburg Sinfonia present excerpts from Handel’s thrilling oratorio Judas Maccabeus. Based on the Book of I Maccabees, the oratorio tells the story of the Jewish struggle for freedom from the Seleucid Empire.
The Medici Choir is a large, London-based choir. As well as three regular concerts a year, the choir takes part annually in a Christmas carol service, sings at private commercial events and weddings, and at festivals abroad. Medici Choir has performed in Prague, Berlin, Paris, Venice and Rome, the Wolfgangsee region of Austria, and Mallorca. The choir regularly performs with the Brandenburg Sinfonia.
