About Blue | Glas at Sadler’s Wells
National Dance Company Wales arrives at Sadler’s Wells in London from 24 to 26 September 2026 with Blue | Glas. Bringing the company to the capital’s most famous dance house is a fitting showcase for a double bill that moves between tenderness and raw physicality.
The evening opens with Ordinary Courage, Theo Clinkard’s 2012 work remade this year for NDCWales — a sincere reflection on grief, loss and the quiet strength of human connection, set to a haunting score that incorporates Scarlatti and Bach. It is followed by Untamed, a visceral new creation by Alesanda Seutin, a 2026 Olivier Award nominee and Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist, rooted in the human urge to run.
What to Expect
Untamed is athletic and commanding. Bodies charged with emotion coil like springs ready to release, set to a driving soundtrack that folds in traditional Welsh instruments and ancestral voices. Performed on the Sadler’s Wells stage, the athleticism of the work lands with real force, while Ordinary Courage provides the evening’s quiet heart. Expect to leave invigorated, moved, and a little breathless.
Performances begin at 19:30 and run to approximately 22:00 with an interval. With three dates across the run, there is some flexibility in choosing a night, but the company’s London appearances tend to sell steadily.
Sadler’s Wells has been the home of dance in London for generations, and seeing Wales’ national company on that stage is a genuine occasion. As with most dance runs in Islington, midweek performances are usually the easiest to secure.
