ARIES SEASON CELEBRATION WITH CASEY TUFNELL and FRIENDS (LIVE)! Weds Apr 05 (7pm-12am/£2-5 Suggested Donation) – Our weekly Weds live series NU JAZZ GENERATIONS presents a very special Aries Season birthday celebration for resident CASEY TUFNELL and Friends. Nu Jazz continuing our mission to champion the nu-wave of live jazz and beyond. An essential platform for talented young and student musicians, hosted in our intimate live lounge. This weeks special celebrating women and gender minorities in jazz with two 45 minute jam sessions featuring singer songwriters CASEY TUFNELL, MATILDA BATES, CHEVELLE FRAZER-ROSE, NIA and YAZ all LIVE at The CLF Art Lounge and Roof Gardens.

CASEY TUFNELL (LIVE)
Casey Tufnell is a British singer/songwriter focusing on vulnerability, disorder(s) and queerness. Entangling many themes others can relate to in their songs, their soulful and rich tones help you to ease your mind, get lost in the music and to never feel alone. With lyrics that are hard hitting and chords with gorgeous timbre, Casey encompasses their knowledge of folk, jazz, and soul into this set. Bring tissues and ask for a hug at the end of this spiritual and beautiful set.
MATILDA BATES (LIVE)
Matilda is a singer songwriter from Torquay that focuses on an introspective lyricism accompanied by guitar. Combining styles of neo-soul, jazz and folk, matilda brings a storytelling of her experiences.
CHEVELLE FRAZER-ROSE (LIVE)
Chevelle Frazer Rose is multi disciplined artist hailing from South East London. Highly regarded singer-songwriter, producer, guitarist, bassist and mixing engineer.
With over 11 years experience performing her own work and supporting other industry professionals, Chevelle’s artistry explores the fusion of several genres including neo soul, folk and jazz.
Chevelle has busy building an impressive repertoire of new solo material that combines soulful grooves on electric guitar, warming vocals and spoken word.
Stylistically Chevelle’s writing style can be described similarly to writing in journal form. Chevelle shares art in a way that makes it okay to feel vulnerable. Her work is deemed relatable, soft but powerful, sultry and poetic. As an artist Chevelle’s demonstrates an eloquence and grace that exudes nothing but talent and charm.
Chevelle recently wrote and featured on God’s Love (So Sure) by Tee Peters, Mensing and Paklite and has consistently supported upcoming artists as well as performed at highly acclaimed events including Sofar Sounds London.
Chevelle expects to share unreleased music this year and is currently recording her debut EP
NIA (LIVE)
NIA – Birmingham born London based jazz fusion artist, bringing us spiritual electro jazz with sultry, soulful melodies.
YAZ (LIVE)
YAZ is a singer based in South-East London. French born, Palestinian raised. She grew up listening to a lot of Arabic traditional songs and Jazz. She tends to mix both genres in her song choices and lyrics, taking influences from artists such as Fairouz, Yebba and icons of chansons francaises.
