OKIEM is a pianist and composer whose music is described as “cinematic classical”. He creates his signature sound by combining piano, orchestral instruments and synthesizers.

Okiem has performed on the piano for many of the biggest artists in the music industry from Leona Lewis, to Tinie Tempah, to Emeli Sande, to Boy George, to opening up for John Legend. Most recently he has been seen on an Arena tour with the boyband Blue sharing his original compositions across venues in the UK including London’s world famous O2 Arena.

Okiem has been compared to composers such as Ludovico Einaudi and Olafur Arnalds. His contemporary take on the classical genre is expressed in his albums ‘Xiro’ and ‘The Golden Circle’. Okiem is the creator of The Infinity Orchestra and he can be seen performing with this amazing group of musicians across the UK and Worldwide.

What’s Piano Day You ask?
Piano Day, is an annual worldwide event founded by a group of like-minded people, it takes place on the 88th day of the year – in 2023, it’s the 29th March – because of the number of keys on the piano. (We’ve controversially decided to celebrate on the 26th of March).

“Why does the world need a Piano Day? For many reasons. But mostly, because it doesn’t hurt to celebrate the piano and everything around it: performers, composers, piano builders, tuners, movers and most important, the listener.” – Nils Frahm
