About The Jam and Style Council Special
How Does It Feel To Be Loved? — one of London’s longest-running indie pop and soul club nights — is hosting its very first themed special, celebrating two of the most influential British bands of all time: The Jam and The Style Council. For one night only at Signature Brew Haggerston, the decks are given over to the songs that made Paul Weller a defining voice of mod revival, punk and blue-eyed soul, set alongside the night’s signature blend of shimmering indie pop, sixties soul and Northern soul.
For more than two decades How Does It Feel To Be Loved? has been a fixture of the London club calendar, described by the NME as a “legendary indie club”, by The Guardian as “absolutely the best night in the whole of the world”, and by Time Out as a hugely popular night with “a soundtrack of classic sixties soul and the most danceworthy janglepop and shimmering indie tunes”. This special takes that formula and turns it up, threading The Jam’s anthems and The Style Council’s soulful pop through a dancefloor built for people who love guitars, horns and a great chorus.
What to Expect
Doors open at 9pm and the music runs through to 1am. The resident DJs will move between The Jam and The Style Council favourites and the club’s usual mix of indie pop and soul — think Belle & Sebastian, Dusty Springfield, The Magnetic Fields, Dexys Midnight Runners, The Supremes, Orange Juice, Camera Obscura, Otis Redding, The Ronettes and many more. Expect a friendly, inclusive crowd, a proper dancefloor and a night that leans firmly into melody rather than nostalgia for its own sake.
Please note this is an 18+ event, and the venue is a working brewery taproom, so expect a lively, casual atmosphere with beers brewed on site. Tickets are limited given the intimate 200-capacity room, so booking ahead is strongly recommended.
Getting There
Signature Brew Haggerston sits under the railway arches at 340 Acton Mews, London E8 4EA. The venue is a short walk from Haggerston London Overground station and within easy reach of Dalston, Hoxton and Shoreditch. Several bus routes serve the Kingsland Road corridor, and there is limited street parking nearby, so public transport is the easiest option on a Saturday night. Full venue details are on our Signature Brew Haggerston page, and you can explore everything else happening in the capital on our London events hub.
Tickets & Pricing
Tickets cost £7.21 including booking fees — the price you pay, with no surprises later. Tickets are sold through DICE and are stored securely in the app. As an 18+ event you will need valid photo ID on the door. Book direct via DICE to secure your place at this first-ever Jam and Style Council special.
