For 6 years now, the french funk band “ECHOES OF” has been leading a very successful and phenomenal monthly residency called “Funk and The City”, at the legendary jazz club NEW MORNING, in Paris. The young cats of ECHOES OF are paying tribute to the American cities of funk (Detroit, Washington, Dayton, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia…) in a very brilliant and ambitious way, covering and reviving songs not often performed live from the 1975 to 1985 area.
The band’s reputation has been constantly growing to the extent that they’ve been requested by true 80’s legends, such as HOWARD JOHNSON, JUNIOR GISCOMBE and soon STEVE ARRINGTON for their european tours.
The band are also well known for their creation “ECHOES OF PRINCE”, a very special and unique show, an opera funk in tribute to The Purple One and are currently working on some original material, producing their own sound and music to be released in 2022-23, including the digital release Echoes Of Prince with Mochi Men and Funky French League label already available.
The South London Soul Train (as always), taking all passengers on a Non-Stop Magical Mystery Tour through all things Too Damn Funky. P-Funk to Jazz Funk, Soul Jazz to Rare Groove N’ Stax, Brass, Breaks, Bop and Hop to Motown, Club Classics and Anthems.
However – Passengers are requested to check their Souls at the Station as this one’s for good time party people only! No Bass Wobbles Here, Only Love, Funk and Souuuuuuuul.
