National Dance Company Wales present Blue | Glas

Let NDCWales hold your hand through a desperately beautiful evening of dance.

About Blue | Glas at Theatr Clwyd

National Dance Company Wales returns to Theatr Clwyd in Mold on 6 October 2026 with Blue | Glas, a double bill that sets two very different works side by side. Wales’ national dance company arrives in Flintshire with a production that turns on courage, loss and the simple human need to keep moving.

The evening opens with Ordinary Courage, created by Theo Clinkard in 2012 and remade this year for the NDCWales company. It is a sincere, quietly powerful reflection on grief and the strength we find in one another, carried by a haunting score that weaves together Scarlatti and Bach. It then gives way to Untamed, a visceral new piece from Alesanda Seutin, a 2026 Olivier Award nominee and Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist, rooted in the human urge to run.

What to Expect

Untamed is athletic and commanding. Bodies charged with emotion coil like springs ready to release, set to a driving soundtrack that folds in traditional Welsh instruments and ancestral voices. Together the two works make an evening that is by turns tender and electric — warm, deeply moving and, by the final curtain, genuinely cathartic. It will linger with you long after the movement settles.

The performance begins at 19:30 and runs to approximately 22:00, with an interval. Expect a full evening of contemporary dance rather than a single short piece, and a programme that rewards an open mind — no prior knowledge of the company is needed.
