Following the launch in May, Funhouse Comedy Club brings another great line-up of comedians to The Brew’s Brothers, Newark on Monday July 18th.
Topping the bill is the very lively and genial Gerry K. Having performed stand-up all over the world he still found time to fit in some TV appearances and you may recognise his face from TV’s ‘The Bill’ and ‘FHM Comedy Heroes’. His humorous stories and factual tales are told with a ‘twinkle in the eyes’ and leave his audiences crying with laughter.
Opening the night will be the effortlessly engaging Andrew Bird, who has appeared on TV on The Russell Howard Hour, was the support act on Michael McIntyre’s recent arena tour and has also supported Rhod Gilbert and Lee Hurst on tour, as well as performing internationally. Watching The Young Ones with his brothers as an eight year old, at two in the morning on Comic Relief, he realized then that he wanted to be funny in some way. With his personal appeal and superbly crafted, funny anecdotes, he captivates the crowd.
Completing the line-up will be winner of Funhouse’s Should I Stay or Should I Go competition and semi-finalist in British Comedian of the Year, the up-and-coming Jacob Nussey who draws in audiences with his low-status, surreal, and often dark style.
Compere for the night is Jon Pearson, whose laid-back storytelling has audiences hanging on his every word; his anecdotes are relatable and certain to have people in hysterics.
