Funhouse Comedy Club, which already runs successful nights at numerous venues across the country, is excited to announce the launch of a brand new comedy night at Meadow Covert, Edwalton on Monday April 24th.
Funhouse clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere, which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website Chortle. Previous acts to have played its clubs on their road to the top include Sarah Millican, Joe Lycett, James Acaster and Rhod Gilbert, who described the clubs as “among the best anywhere in the world.”
Topping the bill is winner of ITV’s ‘Show Me The Funny’ the instantly loveable and unique Patrick Monahan, with his trademark hyperactive and freewheeling charm. Following the release of his debut DVD he was a guest on Loose Women and also appeared alongside Philip Schofield and Jason Manford on ITV’s Comedy Annual. More recently he appeared on ITV’s Splash. Of Irish-Iranian decent, but brought up on Teeside he shares tales of his memories. He exudes warmth and charisma; his friendly style mixed with his hilarious story telling leaves everyone wanting for more.
Opening the night will be 2021 British Comedian of the Year Finalist, the incredible Scott Bennett who recently made his ‘Live at the Apollo’ debut and is widely tipped in the industry as on the brink of the big time. He was also runner up in 2014 English Comedian Of The Year competition, Best Show Nominee Leicester Comedy Festival 2019 and support for both Michael McIntyre and Rob Brydon. This loveable rising star enthrals the crowd with his warm and engaging delivery, he is a Yorkshire live wire with an undeniable no nonsense logic, who has been busy entertaining people through the lockdown, with his ‘Stand Up From The Shed’ online show.
Completing the line-up is Phil Carr, master of one-line jokes that have seen him win various comedy competitions.
Compere for the night will be Fran Jenking, who warms up the audience with his unique style of friendly banter.
