Feckenham Scarecrow Weekend

A fun and free day out for everyone to enjoy

About Feckenham Scarecrow Weekend

Feckenham villagers have been letting their imaginations run riot in preparation for this year’s   Scarecrow Weekend. They’ve been busy making the most imaginative, weird and wonderful displays to delight, enthral, amuse and (sometimes) scare. It’s an ideal day out that’s become a firm favourite with visitors wanting to enjoy an early autumn outing in a picturesque rural setting.

Feckenham is a village in Worcestershire a few miles south of Redditch, with the Bow Brook running through it and the parish church of St John the Baptist beside The Square. The Scarecrow Weekend has become one of the village’s best-loved annual traditions, drawing visitors from across Worcestershire and the wider Midlands for an early autumn day out among the lanes and cottages.

What’s On: The Scarecrow Trail

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, 10th October and Sunday, 11th October and the Scarecrows will be on parade from 11am to 4.30pm each day. There’ll be a Scarecrow Trail to follow with maps available at the start on The Square (village green) – where you’ll also find a Tea Tent with a mouthwatering array of cakes to be washed down with tea, coffee or soft drinks – as well as a sizzling grill. There’ll be games and novelties for the youngsters. There’ll also be exhibitions and demonstrations by the artists and craftsmen of Feckenham Artisans and there’ll be the chance to buy items – perhaps a bit of early shopping for Christmas?

Vote for the Best Scarecrow

The organisers are expecting over 40 scarecrow creations for everyone to enjoy – and to judge. The visiting public will vote to choose the Best Scarecrow. Voting slips will be distributed at the start of the trail. The winners will be announced on Sunday afternoon.

Free Admission, Parking and Proceeds

This event is just for fun – admission and maps will be free of charge. Free parking too! Satnav users should enter Postcode B96 6QH

Proceeds from the tea tent, etc will be used to maintain Feckenham’s village green.

Getting There
