Funhouse Comedy brings an outstanding day of comedy to the partly-covered beer garden at The Reindeer Inn, Southwell on Sunday July 31st with its Edinburgh Festival Preview All-Dayer.
2.00pm – Patrick Monahan – Classy
In a world of groups, hierarchies and class systems, everyone’s trying so hard to fit in. What’s wrong with being a misfit? Be you, be proud! From the caravan to the middle-class neighbourhood, it’s taken Monahan four decades to realise this. Enjoy Monahan’s stand-up observations on living a contemporary life.
3.25pm – Raul Kohli – Russian Weapon of Mass Destruction
Talking about important events in his life and the world at large, such as why he felt sorry for the local paedophile during Covid-19, how Russian intelligence services used comedians, including himself, as a weapon of mass destruction to precede their invasion of Ukraine and why white people need to stop having sex while their dogs are in the room… ‘Superb political comedy’ (Scotsman ‘Inspiringly intelligent’ (Paul Sinha).
4.50pm – Brennan Reece – Crowded
Finally allowed to reconnect with human people again, Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Brennan has forgotten how to do it and needs your help. You’d think he’d be amazing with crowds after being on Live At The Apollo, Celebrity Coach Trip and Joe Lycett’s tour. But the world just seems a bit much. Sounds really lockdowny doesn’t it? But it’s not. Promise. It’s a show about you, me and all the others.
6.15pm – Jake Lambert – Liminal
Fresh from supporting Michael McIntyre and Romesh Ranganathan, ‘Fringe favourite’ (BroadwayWorld.com) Jake Lambert returns with another ‘highly entertaining hour’ (One4Review.co.uk) full of ‘subtlety and wit throughout’ (LondonTheatre1.com). The sometimes self-disparaging musical comedian, with his individual anecdotes and speedily delivered song parodies.
8.45pm – Diane Spencer – Slid Off The Turkey
Saucy stand-up comedian Diane’s ninth stand-up show exploring themes of deficiency, such as the inappropriate board game her mother made, having anaemia when you’re ginger and married sexual mishaps.
