There is something for everyone at this year’s event. We have a fantastic gaming area with a Mario Kart display and a time trial competition, VR pods and headsets and The Swindon Makerspace. We have a record number of Star Wars displays for you to have your photographs taken with and to try out Lightsaber training at no extra cost on the day, Bumblebee from Transformers will be joining us as well as a life-size Iron Warrior Cosplay from Warhammer 40K. Batman’s Tumbler and Bat-pod will be on display for you to sit in as well as the Joker and Harley Quinns cars.
Swindon Comic Con will be invaded by the Daleks and Weeping Angles but luckily The Doctor has parked his Tardis somewhere in the museum for you to find. The largest Indiana Jones zone in the UK will be on display, have your photo taken stealing the Golden Idol, Riding the runaway minecart or alongside Indians Jones’s prize artifacts.
You will be able to meet and have your photo taken with David Bradley who is best known for playing ‘Argus Filch’ in the Harry Potter movies as well as ‘Geppetto’ in Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio which released on Netflix this year! Christopher Ryan from ‘The Young Ones’ and Katy Manning from ‘DR Who’ are some of the other special guests scheduled to attend the event this year.
For Star Wars fans, Amanda Lawrence best known for her role as ‘Commander D’Acy’ in The Last Jedi and The Rise of the Skywalker will be appearing at the event. Hugh Spight, who played ‘Chief Gammorrean Guard’ and ‘Prune Face’ in the epic space-opera franchise will also be attending.
The event will have something for everyone to enjoy, with cosplay competitions, gaming, Jedi training, photo opportunities, and so much more! Every single photo op and display is free on the day but extra costs or donations do apply for gaming activities. Entry to our award-winning museum displays is also included in the ticket price.
