RGB Building Supplies’ Wiveliscombe branch is inviting customers and the community to a fundraising morning on Tuesday 9th August when three team members will be placed in stocks and have wet sponges thrown at them. All money raised will be donated to RGB’s chosen charity, the RNLI.
Throughout July, customers made donations for the chance to nominate RGB the staff members they would like to see in the stocks. Maxine Darton-Smith, internal sales and stock controller; Jake Aldridge-Hamar, internal sales, and Andy Quick, yard supervisor from the Wiveliscombe branch received the most votes.
To boost the fundraising, during the event on Tuesday 9th August visitors will be able to enjoy hot dogs, enter a raffle, with prizes including a DAB/Bluetooth radio, and take part in a tombola to receive RGB goodies.
Adrian Borchardt, Branch Manager at RGB Wiveliscombe, commented:
“Throughout 2022, the whole RGB branch network is fundraising for the RNLI, which does fantastic work throughout our region saving lives and educating people about water safety. Our team wanted to do something fun to support the charity and, so far, we have raised over £400 from customers nominating staff members – thank you to everyone who contributed.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming people along on the day. Maxine, Jake and Andy are great sports, and I know they’re hoping for a nice warm day!”
The fundraising morning takes place from 7.30am on Tuesday 9th August at RGB’s Wiveliscombe branch, which is located on Old Brewery Road.
