Come and be inspired by the skill and creativity of Dorset Arts and Crafts.
The main hall in Purbeck School hosts the largest sales gallery in Dorset with work by members of the Dorset Arts and Crafts Association. It’s the place to find that perfect present or souvenir of your holiday. All the art, craft and photography in main hall is for sale and can be taken away on day of purchase.
Showcase 2023 also features our Open Art, Craft and Photography competitions. There are over 20 different craft sections including – beadwork, jewellery, lace, recycling, patchwork and quilting, spinning and weaving, pottery and woodwork. Probably the largest variety of craft in one place in Dorset.
This year we have 2 guest exhibitions – “The South West Coast Path” a celebration of their 50th anniversary by the West Country Embroiderers, and a photography exhibition by Parkstone Camera Club.
There is the opportunity to meet the makers in our art and craft stall areas, many of whom will be demonstrating their craft.
Let the youngsters ‘have-a-go’ in our Children’s Workshops, there will be a variety of activities (suitable for those over 6 years) including making beaded geckos, braid making, air dried clay creatures, Dorset buttons and marbling. Children under 6 years can enjoy creating with glue, pipe cleaners, feathers, crayons and take home their own master pieces. Advanced booking is not necessary, there is a nominal charge per workshop activity to cover material costs.

There’s free parking, disabled access throughout and refreshments available in the cafeteria.
